The Group Chief Executive, Richard Solomons, announced preliminary data from InterContinental Hotels (IHG) in 2012, the year which recorded a profit compared to 2011, of 4.5%, entering a total of $ 556 million compared to U.S. $ 532 million.
According to the bulletin issued by IHG at the end of last year, the group achieved revenues reach U.S. $ 1,835 million, up 3.8% on the previous year, when net revenues of U.S. $ 1,768 million.
IHG operating profit earned in 2012 was $ 614 million, representing a 9.8% increase compared to $ 559 million in 2011.
Solomons said through a statement that includes the newsletter, that 2012 was a year of «significant progress» for the company, due to growth in total revenue per available room (RevPAR) by 5.2%.
Similarly, points out that the financial environment remained «strong» in many of the key markets for the group, which signed a half-day hotel in its portfolio, reflecting the «excellent» relationship with the company owners .
IHG, as part of the preparation of its tenth anniversary as an independent company, bet on its business model into one that is «flexible» with which you can achieve good performance in this year, before the «difficult» economic environment.
