Air Canada strengthens its route Lima – Toronto with new frequency

Alfredo Babun, General Manager for Chile and Peru, Air Canada, announced that they have taken the decision to open a new frequency on the route Lima – Toronto due to increased passenger traffic in Canada, belonging mainly to the corporate market.

The new frequency, which is the fourth in the Canadian airline on this route will be open from December 20 this year, thereby strengthening its presence in the Andean country., Even as we study the possibility of opening a fifth frequency.

According to the press release sent to the drafting of arecoa.com, the airline also announced that as of October 29, the flight schedule on the day will leaving Lima at 10:25 hours and arriving in Toronto the 18:20 hours, often on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. And in Toronto, the flight leaves at 1:00 pm and arrive in Lima at 7:20 pm. «This gives us opportunity to carry Canadian passengers with destinations beyond Lima,» said Patricia Lucar de Hende, Sales Manager of Air Canada in Peru.

The note mentions the acquisition of 37 ships 787 ‘Dreamliner’ Boeing that will be operational from the first quarter of 2014. These new aircraft have greater passenger capacity, plus fuel savings by 20%.

Babun said that talks are being established with the tourist office in Toronto to promote itself as a tourist destination in South America. It has been convincing to invest in Brazil, Argentina and Chile and is expected at future meetings to convince that also consider investing in Peru, «but would take a little time.»

Another way to encourage tourism to Canada is through the ‘International Experience program’ which is valid for Peruvian students so they can travel to Canada for a year for a graduate and also gives them the opportunity to work so that to cover their expenses.
