Aeromexico open a direct flight between Mexico City and Washington

Aeromexico announced the operation of a direct flight between the capitals of Mexicoand the United States from next May 21.

«Aeromexico continues to take solid steps to strengthen its international presence and respond to market demand,» said Jorge Goytortúa, executive vice president of sales for the airline.

He explained that the U.S. capital will be the fate of the airline sixteenth in the U.S., whileAmericans can connect to 40 cities in Mexico and the network of destinations in Centraland South America.

«The connection between the two capitals of the two countries was painfully slow andthis connectivity options open … that will benefit traffic officials, professionals, businessmen, students,» said Mexico’s ambassador to the United States, ArturoSarukhan.

The flight is the second daily direct route between the two capitals and will arrive inMexico City at 10:45 hours in both, to the U.S. part at 20:35 hours local time, reportsThe Financial

«We see Mexico as an important emerging market for capital and we want to ensure that Mexicans have the opportunity to come and visit our great city and vice versa,» saidElliot Ferguson, director of the tourist office in Washington, Destination DC.
